Students in third and fourth grade at Prince Edward County Elementary School will have the opportunity to expand their learning in math with the implementation of accelerated math. The content is to build upon the set of core objectives and learning program that students need to achieve proficiency mathematics. The program also provides the tools for teachers to closely monitor individual student progress, differentiate instruction accordingly, and verify results. The purpose of this program is to create excitement for learning math and to make practice more effective for every student. |
Students in K-2 will be introduced the Waterford’s Math and Science Program, which fosters hands-on-exploration and inquiry-based learning, while giving students a sound foundation in basic skills as well as creative problem solving. The curriculum promotes retention of scientific information by teaching students to observe, manipulate, and question while learning science and math concepts. |
