Prince Edward County, VA — Prince Edward County Public Schools is proud to announce that Michael Weaver, Automotive Technology teacher, has been named the 2025-2026 Division Teacher of the Year. Mr. Weaver’s dedication to student success, hands-on instruction, and workforce readiness has made a lasting impact on students and the school community.
As an automotive teacher, Mr. Weaver provides students with real-world skills that prepare them for careers in the skilled trades, postsecondary education, and lifelong learning. His classroom emphasizes safety, problem-solving, professionalism, and industry-aligned practices, helping students gain both technical knowledge and confidence.
Outside of the classroom, Mr. Weaver is an advocate for Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs and has served on several advisory boards. He is also the golf coach for the high school and was elected to the local school board in his county.

His passion for teaching students is evident through his unwavering commitment and nurturing approach. He is deeply committed to serving the community and upholding the integrity of all programs within our building. Mr. Weaver not only takes full ownership of what happens in his classroom, but his love and passion for students extend into our hallways each day he comes to work. For his many years of dedicated service to thousands of students, his steadfast commitment to this program, and his service to the entire community, this appointment as Prince Edward County Division Teacher of the Year is truly well deserved.”
Mr. Weaver is known for building strong relationships with students while maintaining high expectations. His commitment to Career and Technical Education reflects the division’s mission to ensure every student graduates prepared for success beyond high school.
