The program brought history to life in a way that was both engaging and deeply meaningful for students and staff.

Performing in character as Harriet Tubman, Ms. Faison shared Harriet’s story from birth into slavery through her courageous journey to freedom. Through vivid storytelling and dramatic interpretation, students experienced history from Harriet’s perspective—hearing about her faith, her resilience, and her determination to lead others to freedom through the Underground Railroad.

Students were attentive and fully engaged throughout the performance, responding with thoughtful reflection and appreciation for the strength and sacrifice demonstrated in Harriet Tubman’s life. The program provided an opportunity not only to learn historical facts, but to connect emotionally to the lived experiences of those who shaped our nation’s history.

This enriching presentation was part of our ongoing celebration of Black History Month at PECHS. We are incredibly thankful to Ms. Faison for sharing her talents and gifts with our students and for helping us honor the legacy of courage, perseverance, and leadership that continues to inspire us today.
