๐Ÿšจ VHSL Update: New Transfer Rule (Effective July 1, 2026)**๐Ÿšจ

The Virginia High School League has released important updates on 9th-grade eligibility and school transfers.

Key takeaway:
To be immediately eligible at a high school outside your attendance zone, students must either:
โœ”๏ธ Attend that schoolโ€™s feeder middle school for 8th grade
OR
โœ”๏ธ Be accepted into an approved academy/specialty program

๐Ÿ“Œ This rule impacts future 8th graders (Class of 2027 and beyond) โ€” current 8th graders are not affected.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Be sure to review the full FAQ to understand how this may impact your student-athlete.

๐Ÿ“„ Full details here {LINK TO FAQ}

Please contact Jeremy T. Eubank, Athletic & Activities Director at Prince Edward County High School, with questions or concerns at 434-315-2102 or jeremy.eubank@pecpsk12.org.

To all Bus 53 and 58 families, Bus 53 will run a double route this afternoon. It will complete its normal route and then return to transport Bus 58 students. As a result, Bus 58 students may experience a slight delay.

PECHS is proud to celebrate a day of fun and recognition for outstanding attendance. On April 22, 208 students in grades 9-12 traveled to Lynchburg to attend the Hill City Howlers baseball game for Education Day at the ball field. This special trip served as an attendance incentive for students who missed no more than two days of school, excused or unexcused, between January 6 and March 12. With five buses filled with students, staff, and parent chaperones, the day was a well-earned reward that highlighted the value of showing up and staying committed to school each day. A special shoutout goes to Mrs. Kandra Woodson, our CTE and Attendance Secretary, for helping make this opportunity possible. We are so proud of our students and thankful to everyone who helped make the day such a success. ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’›
