The Virginia High School League has released important updates on 9th-grade eligibility and school transfers.
Key takeaway:
To be immediately eligible at a high school outside your attendance zone, students must either:
โ๏ธ Attend that schoolโs feeder middle school for 8th grade
OR
โ๏ธ Be accepted into an approved academy/specialty program
๐ This rule impacts future 8th graders (Class of 2027 and beyond) โ current 8th graders are not affected.
๐ Be sure to review the full FAQ to understand how this may impact your student-athlete.
