Based on current conditions, Prince Edward County Public Schools will have an asynchronous learning day tomorrow, Wednesday, January 28. Information was sent home with your student on Friday. We will communicate plans for the remainder of the week on a day-by-day basis. Please note that Monday, February 16, 2026, will now be a regular school day.

Dr. Jones attended a gathering of retired PECPS teachers today. He updated them on the ES renovation project, enjoyed hearing them reflect on their time at PECPS, and discussed our continued efforts to connect the community with our classrooms.

Our ES Eagles enjoyed winter hats and gloves as an attendance incentive, thanks to donations from Piedmont Regional Jail and our local Sheetz. Additional community partners also provided coats and other winter apparel at each school. PECPS is currently unable to make or receive calls outside of the division. Internal calls between staff extensions are still working. The issue has been reported, and the company is working to resolve it as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Dr. Jones recently met with members of the Superintendent’s Advisory Committee to discuss concerns and share feedback. The committee includes representatives from each school who gather input from colleagues to bring forward on behalf of their schools. Open communication is essential to ensuring voices across PECPS are heard and valued.

🎓 Class of 2026 — It’s Your Turn! 🎓 We’re celebrating the Class of 2026 on the 26th of each month! Seniors may wear their decorated Homecoming Graduation Caps to school on 1/26, 2/26, and 3/26 to show off their creativity and class pride.
📣 If there’s inclement weather, caps may be worn on the next school day.

The Superintendent’s Student Panel recently met! 🦅💬 Students shared their concerns and what they enjoy most about being an Eagle. Our ES Eagles are still excited about the opening of the new addition, while our middle school Eagles enjoyed talking about future career paths.
