Next week, May 4โ8, is Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week! PECHS has planned a week full of treats and gratitude to celebrate the incredible team that makes the high school great.
Hereโs the rundown of the fun:
Mon: Breakfast provided for staff, donated by Farmville United Methodist Church. Students: Visit the "Wrapped in Gratitude" Banners in the foyers!
Tue: The "Standard" Soda Bar treats because our staff is Soda-lightful! Students: Final day to vote for staff superlatives on Canvas!
Wed: Specialty cookies from Sweet Eโs Pastries. Students: Keep those digital compliments coming!
Thu: Staff Gift Day! Personalized staff gifts are distributed throughout the day. ๐
Fri: Staff Superlative Awards presented and staff photos.

Tomorrow we celebrate our School Nutrition Staff! Friday, May 1, is School Lunch Hero Day! We recognize the time and care put into each meal prepared fresh every day. Please thank your School Lunch Heroes!

From honoring our educators during Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week to staying focused for SOL Testing and celebrating our graduates during Senior Week, there is a lot to keep track of. The NAACP Education Committee met with Dr. Jones to receive updates, ask questions, and discuss how they can support PECPS. As always, our community partners bring valuable insight and help strengthen our school community.


The last FeedMore food market of the school year is TODAY! Doors will open and food distribution will begin at 3:30 p.m. at the Sports Arena. As a reminder, this event is free for anyone with a student currently enrolled at PECPS, while supplies last!

Mr. Ocampoโs Biology students took their learning outside on Friday, April 24, working in groups to explore different areas around campus. Students observed their surroundings, looking closely at how living and nonliving factors interact, how environmental conditions affect populations, and how human activity shapes the spaces around them. Hands-on, real-world learning in action! ๐ฟ๐




Yesterday, our bus, van, and transportation staff were treated to breakfast as part of Bus Driver Appreciation Day! ๐๐

The Virginia High School League has released important updates on 9th-grade eligibility and school transfers.
Key takeaway:
To be immediately eligible at a high school outside your attendance zone, students must either:
โ๏ธ Attend that schoolโs feeder middle school for 8th grade
OR
โ๏ธ Be accepted into an approved academy/specialty program
๐ This rule impacts future 8th graders (Class of 2027 and beyond) โ current 8th graders are not affected.
