Last week, we recognized School Counselors Week, and this week, we are celebrating Kindness Week, while continuing to honor Black History Month.
Guided by the Virginia Kindness Week theme, “Show Us Your Kind,” students and staff will take part in spirit days and daily kindness challenges that promote inclusion, gratitude, and wellness. Throughout the month, we will also celebrate the rich contributions of Black Americans and recognize the vital role our school counselors play in supporting students each day. Let’s go, Eagles! 💜💛🦅
Last week, Dr. Hicks and Mrs. Clark-Reed visited their alma mater, Virginia State University, for a career expo. They had the opportunity to network, interview candidates, and speak with VSU President Dr. Makola M. Abdullah. Bus Delay: Bus 17 students will arrive home later than usual this afternoon. Bus 29 will return to campus at approximately 4:00 p.m. to transport Bus 17 students.

Due to recent inclement weather and school closures, after-school tutoring will begin on Monday, February 16, 2026.
PECPS will operate on a two-hour delayed opening on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.
We will continue to closely monitor weather conditions this evening and tomorrow morning and will adjust plans if needed, as forecasts remain mixed.

❄️ Eagle Family, we’re almost back! Tuesday, Feb 3, is an asynchronous learning day. We’ve almost run out of admins for AI closure announcements, a good sign we’re close to reopening! Hope you survived the ice storm, tackled those choice boards, and enjoyed the snacks we sent home. 🦅 February 12 is now a full day of school, and parent-teacher conferences have been canceled.
