Mrs. Draper began the coffee cart to give students in the adaptive class real-world experience with handling money and food while learning these topics in class. Last year, Mrs. McQuaige-Hicks revitalized the cart, renaming it the Sandee Draper Express in memory of our late adaptive teacher and Transition Coordinator. Now operating twice a month—once as a breakfast/coffee cart and once as a snack cart—the initiative helps students gain job skills with support from paraprofessionals and special education teachers. Students participate by taking orders, managing money, and handling inventory. The cart serves staff only, and proceeds go to the life skills account for restocking. Students working with the Sandee Draper Express were recognized at the last school board meeting for their hard work and dedication to this project!
